They find out somebody has the virus. They track that persons movements. They identify the citizens who were in the same locations around the same time and notify them. Don’t be paranoid. We’re at war. It’s an emergency.

Sure and if that was the only way to do it, I'd be okay with it in the short term. But I'm just saying that it's a lot less intrusive and narrowly tailored to just get people to write names and phone numbers down at stores than have 24 hour a day 7 day a week tracking using your phone.

we should all go ahead an get chips implanted in us that way big brother can have all the info they want and it will save the waitress time writing it down.

I just watched Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's very detailed press conference in which he addressed re-opening the state in phases. Hogan stated that because of the good trends regarding hospitalizations, testing, and ICU cases, the state is on course to lift some restrictions on May 15 if the current trends continue. He continually referred to "Our Public Health experts" and "our plans" and how he was informed by those in the medical profession that there will be a trial in the hardest-hit areas of a new vaccine. He touched on the importance of testing in my area (poultry production) and how the testing goals were being accomplished.

In the 20 minutes I watched, Governor Hogan stressed the importance of unity, and he never, not once, uttered the words "I", "Me" or "Mine". Larry Hogan has my unqualified support.

The waitresses are already forcing free fluoridated water on us to steal our manly fluids.

I've generally been more impressed with Maryland's response than Virginia's.

It will be pretty funny when they try to do contact tracing from downtown hotels and end up looking for 'Richard Nixon,' 'Sherlock Holmes' and 'Tom Sawyer'

I was on a town hall with my state senator yesterday, and he was very complimentary of what neighboring Maryland is doing. The most impressive governors IMHO have been Cuomo, Hogan. DeWine, and the guy in California whose name escapes me. If we're going to open things up, let's do it intelligently and with ample scientific input.

The speech therapist at the facility where I work lives in VA, and says they're waiting for Maryland's decision on re-opening and will do what Maryland does.

Totally agreed, if only we could have this type of leadership at the federal level.....

Probably a smart strategy. Maryland has been quicker to respond than Virginia has on pretty much everything.

Because with or without GPS, it isn't accurate enough to know if you were in the store or drove past it from 20 feet away. Not to mention to get credit card or phone tracking data, those providers would require a court order. This shirt isn't that complicated and the government doesn't give enough of a shirt what gavinj from SaintsReport does to bother tracking your movement under normal circumstances.

I repeat: THIS IS FOR HOSPITALS. NOT THE GOVERNMENT. STOP BEING PARANOID. YOU ARE NOT THAT IMPORTANT.

I don’t live in a place that is doing contact tracing or requiring businesses to compile the customer lists.

You answered the question though. Thanks.

Yeah I agree. There was an article I read the other day about DeWine and how he's dealing with protestors. Basically, he said the ones that were going after his employees and reporters are obnoxious and they should focus their ire on him since he's the one making the policy and they should leave the people just doing their jobs alone. Seemed like a really stand up guy. I haven't kept up with Ohio much but there's a poster here who has been saying good things about his state's response.

I thought you were being purposefully dense, so I apologize for directing that at you so personally. I'm becoming very frustrated with a lot of people's attitude about all of this in the US. I find it unacceptable how bad we've let this crisis become as a country and even more unacceptable how willing we seem to be to let it get worse. We've let our individualism and distrust cloud our judgment to the point that we can't even support each other during what's likely going to be the greatest crisis in our lifetimes.

Weekly Wednesday Walmart report:

I went into two local Walmarts today. The first one was a regular Walmart and the second was a neighborhood market. I usually hit the neighborhood one after because they have some better variety on certain products and I use them as a backup in case the main store doesn't have what I was looking for.

Main store - still about 1/3 of the people had masks. Neighborhood store - at least half had masks. This is not the first time that I've observed this large difference between these two stores. I find it interesting that noticeably more people wear them at one store.

Here's where I'm getting on my soapbox. In the both stores, the arrows are CLEARLY marked on the floor for one way traffic down the aisles. I'll be damned if multiple people weren't just going about their business like no arrows were there. At least twice, I said (probably loud enough to be heard, although I had my mask on), "There are forking arrows. Use them." I know I was give stink-eye to those people, as well. It just pisses me off that you're going to have so little regard for others that you (1) don't bother wearing a mask and (2) don't bother following simple directions.
