The fastest edge rushers weren’t the top prospects. Minnesota’s Carter Coughlin “won” the 40 with a 4.57, followed by Kansas’ Azur Kamara (4.59), N.C. State’s James Smith-Williams (4.60) and Florida’s Jabari Zuniga (4.64).
(G)ive Khalil Davis a win over his twin brother Carlos. At 308 pounds, Khalil posted a 4.75 in the 40, just better than Carlos’ 4.82. Khalil also beat his brother in the 225-pound bench press, with 32 reps to 27. Khalil’s 40 time was the second-fastest for a (3)00 pounder since at least 2000, according to Pro Football Reference.
Two of the top off-the-ball prospects, LSU’s Patrick Queen and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murrray, posted superb times on their first 40-yard dashes (4.50 for Queen; 4.52 for Murray) but tweaked hamstrings on their second sprints to prematurely end their nights.
