Whether you agree or understand his motives or not..... a painless very quick execution is considered by society... humane.

Only in a very broken, very twisted society could the execution of another human being without trial or recourse to the legal system be considered the humane thing to do. Understanding his motives has nothing to do with it. I would hope that, in a situation like that, I would rise to the level of my humanity, not act beneath it.
