Based on the way they looked it ain't worth it
Just like the Iraq war

Wow, did that guy really compare opening a recruiting office to us invading Iraq? What a ****** idiot. :_rofl:

War is never worth it. Doesn't mean you don't have to fight them though.

The American Revolution was not worth it for the generation that fought it. It was a horrible trial for all involved but they fought it.

There is no possible way to spin WWII as 'worth it' yet it had to be fought and won, irrespective of the sacrifice. many then believed then as many do now, that America should have stayed out of it. And we did for far too long mostly because of the horror of WWI and its failed resolution.

Iraq should have been finished long, long ago. We failed then and are paying the price now.

This is a ridiculous statement. Iraq won't be done for generations...

WWII and Iraq have really nothing much whatsoever in common. The "war" has been over for nearly 5 years. The debate has shifted when to end the occupation, and to what extent to pour more money and resources in the nation-building project and how large an "imprint" the United States should have in Iraq. Furthermore, comparing the occupation of Iraq to post-war Europe is equally troublesome given the fact that it's a Muslim country with deep ethnic/religious divisions.

As I've stated before in other threads, the best military solution in Iraq has been achieved. Militarily, the United States can really do nothing more save for keeping a standing army in Iraq, and it that continues, we might as well just annex it as the 51st state and get it over with.

The main hurdle is the "political solutions" outlined by the administration, of course many of which have to do with oil.
