Darren Sproles Looks To Be More Patient On The Field (1 Viewer)

Ha!

Aww man. I love this guy. Cant believe some people think we should trade him.

What! Some people think we should trade sproles? I definitely don't want to read those post. Why would someone want to trade our most dynamic player that does "Reggie's" roll better ban he ever did. Switch the names and those same people would commit suicide if it was Reggie on the block.

It really seemed that he lost a step this year. I hope that's not the case because a player that depends on his quickness could have a very rapid decline.

^ I guess you are right Sproles is 5' 6" and Holiday is 5" 5". Still the guy is amazing for being so small. He is I guess the second shortest player in the NFL. Being a Texas fan I remmeber him at Kansas State he gave us trouble on our Championship year in 05.

You can't be a Longhorn fan and a Saints fan - sorry you gotta choose a new college team.

One of my favorite gifs of Sproles.

Oh how I wish that'd been the result in the SF game instead of Pierre going out.

No Saints skill player touches the ball more than Sproles and he credits the rigorous offseason training sessions with Brees in helping his endurance for those touches.

I think he might have been better mentioning "aside from Brees" as a preface to that statement.:hihi:

Patient?

Is that another word for INDECISIVE AND DANCES A LOT???

To me, he was VASTLY Different last year than his first year as a Saint!

In 2011, it was ONE CUT and GEAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!

.

Those are his own words. I think he might have been in a hurry more than indecisive. I think he's wanting to slow down so he can make decision that might be better than simply getting upfield as fast as possible. PT is great at that. Barry was the best ever at that. Hilliard was great at that.

Ultimately, as a true pro, it's always important to identify an area to better your self in. That's what I think he's doing.

Well, I could be wrong, but once the play is under way THINKING will slow him down and make him INDECISIVE - and DANCING will be the result.

Just like what we saw most of last year!

He has GREAT INSTINCTS - he needs to get the ball and GEAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUXXXXXXX!

I didn't see that. He averaged better than 5 yards per carry. He was injured for 3 games and still led all RBs in receptions.

If the man says he think it's an area he needs to improve upon, who am I to second guess him?

I don't get it, he wants to do better and you want him to?

Lol it's not like being a Falcons and Saints fan which is impossible, you will probably be even more confused when I tell you I like the Sooners too just not as much as the Longhorns. And I even like the Cowboys, bring out the crosses and holy water! But nothing compares to Saints and Longhorns everyone else is second rate those are my teams!

And I don't see us getting rid of DS anytime soon the dude is just too damn good to let go. You have to admit with his height leading RB's in receptions is pretty impressive but it also because the guy who is giving him the ball.<O:p</O:p

He had a drop off in production from 2011 to 2012 (not counting the missed games) and to me, it's cuz he changed his approach.

If he wants to improve, he (and the Saints) need to Go Back To The Future!

He needs to go back to 2011 and do his One Cut and Go, and the Saints as a whole need to go back to 2006 and 2009 - where they did the FUNDAMENTALS really well and played together as a T-E-A-M!

Fair enough. But I think his drop in production might have been from more things that he couldn't control. I think what he is saying is that because he was not patient enough sometimes the one cut and go got him faster to tacklers and had he remained patient the blocking and holes would have opened up while he was ready to exploit them, not after he got there.

I think his drop off in production is simply because Payton is much better at game planning than Pete. Sproles was a weapon we never really figured out how to exploit last year.
