Isn't he suspect in coverage? I don't mind upgrading on Harper and/or Jenkins but if we decide to I think we need a safety with play-making abilities. No one expects a "lockdown" strong safety as that isn't there job but one with good instincts that holds up well against the run isn't too much to ask and would be ideal.
He isn't great in man coverage but what he does as good as anyone in the NFL is play free safety. He is the hardest hitter in the league at any position, would instantly bring a swagger and intensity to our defense. He would take one of our worst defenders on the team off the field and replace it with a guy that goes to the Pro Bowl every year. He had more interceptions in 2011 than Jenkins has had in his career and he consistently posts 3-4 pick a season. He rarely misses a tackle and receivers fear him. Goldson is also 6'2" and brings some height to our very short secondary. He has started 62 of the last 64 regular season games and is very durable.
Cons
He will be 29 at the start of the season.
He will be very expensive
