Dead pixels on an LCD (1 Viewer)

So if you bought a monitor or laptop and there was a single dead pixel (either dark or bright) would you demand a replacement?

What if it did not have the issue right out of the box, but happened several months later?

A lot of companies consider up to 5 dark pixels and up to 2 bright pixels "in spec" for an LCD screen.

My tolerance would depend on where it was on the screen. In the corners, or near the edge, probably not so worried about it. Near the middle where I'll see it every single, damn time I look at the screen, I'm arguing for a replacement. That said, I could tolerate dark pixels more than bright ones. Dark pixels I'm less likely to notice and I could also confuse them for the dark floater things I have on my eyes.

It depends. If it is a high-end brand I'd probably ask for a replacement even though it was within tolerance. And they'd probably replace it. If it were sub $200 then I'd just learn to live with it.
