Defensive domination gets lost in the shuffle (1 Viewer)

I'm pleased with the performance.

The Bengals executed their scripted drive better than we defended it, it happens, they had 2 weeks to prepare it.

And they got a garbage time TD against backups.

Between those 2 drives was as dominant of a defensive performance as you can expect from a predominantly offensive team.
I'm not expecting that level of play every week, but it was a good sign. If you can dominate the not so good offenses at least you know you can probably still make plays against the good ones to gain possessions for what is one of the best offenses we have seen in a long time. That's a recipe for success.

I saw a few posts about Dennis Allen, but I think the stats the defense put up yesterday deserve to be highlighted. Keep in mind, the Bengals were down early and HAD to try to throw the ball. The bottom line is, they couldn't.

284 total yards given up.
174 passing
110 rushing
14 points
0-6 on 3rd down
4 sacks
2 ints

The addition of Eli Apple has brought more to the table than expected. The safeties can now play like they did last year.

Was it total domination? No, but it was really really good.

And that’s all this offense would need to lift the Lombardi.
Exciting times.
Great job, defense.
