Theres definitely going to be that aspect. KC can and should offer much less, knowing they can win with Mahomes and a serviceable HC. Payton would have to weigh money vs path to multiple SBs.

I dont think he makes a decision until he sees what KCs plans are. Russ could have already cooked his last meal. Mahomes is just entering his prime. We all want this over, but even if Payton gets a hint that Andy Reid is about to shut it down, theres no way he loses out on Mahomes again.

Don’t think teams are gonna wait around through the weekend. If SP tells them he isn’t sure, they’re gonna move on quickly.

I'd rather him in the AFC.

It really doesn't matter to me when the compensation kicks in. I would say the later it is the more I want. So if we get more in 2024 than we can get in 2023 I'd take it.

Nobody wants to go through losing seasons, but I say eat the bullet and set ourselves up for the next 10 years. I don't think DA is our future so let him coach through a bad year and get our cap straightened out. It would be nice to not bargain bin shop every year we need a FA at a key position.

It would also be nice to actually be able to keep some of the players we draft and develop. We always have to let them go because our cap is so screwed up we can only afford them on their rookie deal. Like it or not, we have to go through a bad year or two in order to set ourselves up to be a contender again.

I’m starting to think he goes right back to TV. If he was going to coach again he would have already taken a job. This whole “The Days of our lives” playing out by the hour is just a way to keep his name on the front page. There’s more equity if he lets it drag out another year. Before the season starts it will be “Will Jerrah, won’t Jerrah ? “ I’m not so sure he wants to coach again at all.

And that could be true. But if he thinks Reid might be ready to walk, it might be worth sitting another year in the process. Potentially have a crack at Herbert or Mahomes next year. If I were him, I dont want Denver, Arizona or Carolina. None of those have a QB that moves the needle. Id go play around at Fox for another season and see what happens next year.

He can always come save this franchise again next year as well, you know this job will be open.
