$28-3 year contract.$28 Million a year is what I heard on the radio.
I can't see how he turns down 28 million a year.

Payton will win more than 8 games with that roster. They have offensive weapons they just need a better scheme. Russell Wilson will win comeback player of the year. And they will make the playoffs.I think they'll have the best first round pick next year of all the teams courting him. Even with Payton I don't see how he's able to significantly fix Wilson.
Cardinals won't give up #3 and #9 from the Panthers is a big ask. 2024 1st round pick is our best chance at getting into the top 10 of the draft.
No, per year.$28-3 year contract.
No team has hired a new coach yet, its not like jobs are filling up…I’m starting to think he goes right back to TV. If he was going to coach again he would have already taken a job. This whole “The Days of our lives” playing out by the hour is just a way to keep his name on the front page. There’s more equity if he lets it drag out another year. Before the season starts it will be “Will Jerrah, won’t Jerrah ? “ I’m not so sure he wants to coach again at all.
I honestly think it’s now or never.I’m starting to think he goes right back to TV. If he was going to coach again he would have already taken a job. 1000% agree. Im very low on Loomis but if this is how the next year plays out it would restore some of my confidence. Going into 2024 offseason with two high 1st round picks, cap space and a new coaching staff would be the best possible trajectory. Going all in this season would be a mistake imo.I'd rather him in the AFC.
It really doesn't matter to me when the compensation kicks in. I would say the later it is the more I want. So if we get more in 2024 than we can get in 2023 I'd take it.
Nobody wants to go through losing seasons, but I say eat the bullet and set ourselves up for the next 10 years. I don't think DA is our future so let him coach through a bad year and get our cap straightened out. It would be nice to not bargain bin shop every year we need a FA at a key position.
It would also be nice to actually be able to keep some of the players we draft and develop. We always have to let them go because our cap is so screwed up we can only afford them on their rookie deal. Like it or not, we have to go through a bad year or two in order to set ourselves up to be a contender again.
So you think nobodys offered ? I always took Payton as a guy not to drag his feet and getting started ASAP.No team has hired a new coach yet, its not like jobs are filling up…
Exactlyyou all act like this is payton's decision...did you all forget the Saints Organization has to approve the compensation...He not getting squat until Mrs B's team says its a go...
Whatchu got Semper…?I called this last September.
If it is Denver, I predict it will be the Niners 1st round pick in 2023, Denver's second 3rd round pick in 2023 (pick #69) AND Denver's 1st round pick in 2024. (I could see the Saints only getting back a 2nd round pick in 2024, but I think they should REALLY push for that 1st round pick in 2024.)Man of all places. It’s gonna be the Niners pick this year and a 3rd I know it and I’m gonna puke
He put the second interview with Denver on hold. He’s probably not sure about Russ.If it is Denver, I predict it will be the Niners 1st round pick in 2023, Denver's second 3rd round pick in 2023 (pick #69) AND Denver's 1st round pick in 2024. He should sign for $28 million a year, 3 years guaranteed and a 3 year team option for another 3 years at $28 million per year. Maybe do a $3.28 million signing bonus as well.
They already stated that they wouldn't hold him hostage. This is why we aren't expecting a kings ransom.you all act like this is payton's decision...did you all forget the Saints Organization has to approve the compensation...He not getting squat until Mrs B's team says its a go...
Russ is the best current option out there of current teams in terms of overall roster and QB. Unless he wants to go the Houston route and gamble with a rook qb. He has had a whole year to evaluate, so this about logistics or another team (more money). He put the second interview with Denver on hold. He’s probably not sure about Russ.
