Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (5 Viewers)

Yea I don´t understand the need to label Carr as an average QB that won´t lead the team far. He is the best option and most realist option for the team to be competitive this year. You´d expect the team to do everything they can to be competitive in the short term, and that´s all you can really hope for. The team is doing just that.
On the other hand, Carr has proven he can be a better than average QB before, he is a fiery competitor and he´ll have a chip on his shoulder in his next stop. Couldn´t ask for more really.

Don’t know how reliable this is, but he’s verified and Schefter does follow him.
No one else has reported this.

Not going by this or any Twitter news but just my take.... I think the Jets give him the best offer and an upcoming team. They are well coached and have some talents. They were on a roll for a bit last year. I won't be shocked if he picked the Jets over us.

Incarcerated bob? Wasnt he the infamous Watson to Saints was a done deal?
He does seem to have New York contacts. He has broken a lot of Rangers and Yankees news over the years. The thing is, I would be surprised if he does not already have an offer from the Saints (or an understanding of where it will go). I doubt he left here without that knowledge.

I’ve been saying from the start that the open market does not favor the Saints in regards to Carr. If they wanted him, they needed to get him while the Saints were the only suitors and a trade could be made.

However, Carr held the final key to all of that in that he’d have had to waive his “no trade” clause - and he’d have been a fool to not let the open market set his value.

I felt pretty strongly that once the trade didn’t happen that he’d likely end up somewhere else. Still could end up here but I just don’t feel it is as likely.

It was always the same likelihood. Carr was treating it all like free agency given his no-trade clause. He was not going to accept a trade that he did not feel was best for him.

From his interviews, he does not seem to be all about $ and to not make at least one FA trip just to see what the market is would be stupid
How wise it is for him to check his market value to see how much money he is worth. That’s what a pro does.
