Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (1 Viewer)

I mean…if I’m Carr, this is pretty insulting.

Saints need to make their best offer now. Let him know he’s their top priority and they’re not waiting for…darkness.

Why would it be insulting? It's cool to want to be the guy but business is business. It just means his market is below Aaron Rodgers.

Confirmation that all these reports about NYJ loving Carr and believing he can win them a championship are coming from Carr’s agent because I refuse to believe for a second anyone from the Jets seriously told him the above.

Ya cause your franchise has been so awful for so long. That’s what your selling lol

Seems like it, his join date was 2019

“Hey, thanks for coming. We really want the guy who’s hiding in a cave somewhere and would cost us draft picks. But if he decides to quit, maybe we’ll call you.”

Of course it’s business. But I would hope any competitor would take that sort of “business” decision personal when you are essentially being told to wait on whether the other guy decides to live in a hole or something.

For real, it looks like the Jets are using Carr to put pressure on the Packers and Rodgers. And Carr is using the Jets to put pressure on us to up our offer. Or maybe Carr is really cool with being plan B but I don't know... in his shoes I would like to feel wanted? How can you say you can win championships with him and you want to work with him but still chase a different guy?
They could also be using Rodgers to put pressure on Carr. Right now Carr is the only QB available, and that changes if Rodgers and the Packers start seeking trade partners before free agency begins.

Agreed… people can say “it’s business” all they want but when humans are involved, ego/feeling/pride will factor in EVERY time…

Now, NYJ kick 10mm/year then the next team, you can get over it pretty quick…

Money being close, people want to go where they feel wanted.

to All of the anti-Carr ppl, can you answer ONE question honestly:

if we sign Carr and drafted BiJan Robinson at 29. And the BPA Dt/De/LB at 41. Then we later draft Tulane Spears. With the rest of the draft we pick up depth at spots which are weak. (Oline, safety, LB) and we pick up 2 the best Wr UDFA.

would you actually be excited to watch Saints football in 2023? (honestly answer the question)

Based on the reports I can’t see Carr signing anywhere other than the Jets, unless they pull a fast one for Rodgers.

To that end, if that’s the drivel they told Carr, and he signs with them over us, I would gladly watch them embarrass themselves for the next decade. Their HC is no winner, their history is laughable, and they benefitted early from playing some weak teams. You are not a good team or a contender if you start 5-2 and finish 7-10. Laughable they they hanging onto that start to the season. Now if they went 2-8 to start and turned it around 5-2 it may be a different story.

Carr would be a fool to go there. And if I’m the Saints he gets an offer this week and make it clear the offer changes if the Jets pursue Rodgers.

The longer this goes on the less I want the guy.

Jets want to talk to Packers about Rodgers. GB needs to take what it can get for a guy with 2 seasons left - maybe a 2nd and 3rd round pick. He is the perfect fit as a cold weather QB. Big name for big market. If GB drags its feet, then Carr or Jimmy G to the Jets works.

I still think Carr signs somewhere between March 1-7. Saints make so much sense. Weakest division and dome team.

I still think Carolina trading up for a QB makes so much sense and Indy drafting a QB after their carousel of mediocrity.

I like WFT with Howell and a bridge QB. Bienemy either develops him or you finish with a top 5 pick in 2024.
