St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office deputies Tuesday arrested Destrehan High School teacher and band director Byron Toups, 39, and booked him with molestation of a juvenile, indecent behavior with a juvenile and simple battery.


The charges stemmed from an incident in which Toups allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old student at his home.

Toups was there while I was at DHS. I never had him as a teacher though.

when did you graduate?

I graduated in 02.

Class of '97. I remember a football coach getting fired for something indecent towards the end of HS or shortly after I left. The whole thing was kept quiet and he moved on.

And to the Hahnville person, they used to say everyone at HHS had some form of contagious disease. Don't know how true that is but that's what they say!
