Deuce pushed back his roster bonus date (1 Viewer)

What a good guy. He must feel pretty confident about his health. Lets hope this extension pays off for both sides.

This to me gets curiouser and curiouser. (some novel, alice?)

"McAllister, 29, is recovering from surgery on both of his knees in late September. He expects to be ready for the team's summer minicamp (usually around June 1). But he said he was agreeable to the postponement because it gives him more time to prove he'll "make good on the investment."

"I think honestly if I would have pushed for it, I think I could have gotten it. But in doing that, they probably would have wanted to lower my pay," said McAllister, who is scheduled to receive a salary of $3.6 million this season, in addition to the $1 million roster bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus.

I'm wondering what to make of this. I thought we would pay the million, but renegotiate the rest of the contract.

I'll try to watch and learn, but ....

Glad to hear this, now maybe he can get ready and the team won't cut him. I really believe we are better with him on the roster, He will play hurt and produce, great leader that is worth every penny.

Great news!!! This proves Deuce is willing to work with the Saints front office.

A month isn't really that much extra time. I don't this changing things. Whatever direction the organizatino was going to go in, they probably will still go that way on April 15th. This just gives them 30 more days to see where he's at.

I guess we can all speculate as to what this means exactly. My thoughts are that he figured that the chances were that rather than pay the bonus the Saints would cut him. By postponing the date he gives himself a better chance of actually earning it.

I take this as he was indeed about to be cut if he didn't compromise

Good job Deuce

Exactly how I feel. Duece wants to stay a saint, and is probably concerned they'll cut him. This gives him at least one more month to change their mind.
