Just looking for your ideas on this. But Chicago's offense is really bad. Devon Hester is more of a threat to score and turn a game around. If we play Chicago in the NFC Championship Game, why not purposely kick out of bounds and let them take it on the 35 every time. That way there is no possibility of Devon Hester influencing the game.

I know it sounds kooky. But it just might work.

Those points that Chicago gets on special teams and turnovers can be "coached" away from them. If any team that makes the playoffs doesnt turn the ball over and give them cheap points on special teams, they can win. Force Grossman to drive the length of the field to score..he cant do that at a pace to keep up with playoff teams.

i think when you try and get too cute you end up beating yourself. and the opposing team starts at the 40 when you kick out of bounds. plus we havent allowed a td all year on kickoffs or punts.

Sorry about that. It is the 40. But, maybe it is just me, but our special teams coverage has looked scary in the wrong way this year. It would be a shame to to lose that game over special teams.

I feel more than confident that Michael Lewis, Steve Gleason and Fred McAfee would be able to keep Hester in check.

kick returners are incredibly streaky and eventually come back down to earth. There have been "dominant" kick returners before, Desmond Howard, Dante Hall, even our own Michael Lewis. It wears off. You're better just focusing on your regular coverage and kicking normally rather then doing anything cute that'll back fire.

How bout instead of kicking it out of bounds, get Cundiff to kick it to the end zone every time and have them start at the 20? Sounds like a much better idea to me!

If he can do it, that would be great. But, I haven't seen those kind of kicks consistently since the days of Morten Anderson.
