Did anyone hear Jimmy Kimmel... (1 Viewer)

I'm no tie expert, but I seriously doubt that the double(or full) windsor knot originated in the ghetto.

I agree. That was a pretty stupid comment.

I am no tie expert either, but I went to Military school and wore a tie EVERY day. One of the first things we were taught was that in life, and business, people will judge you by your appearance. We were taught that you should never skimp on your tie knot or shining your shoes. We were taught the proper way to tie a Double Windsor knot. The proper way is to pull it TIGHT in between EACH loop so the knot comes out to be MUCH smaller and tighter.

What Irvin has around his neck may be a Double Windsor knot to some, but it is not the proper way to tie a Double Windsor. Tie knots should be small and precise, not big and floppy like Primadox's leg picture...

double windsor knots are the standard for older business men.... my dad wear them, i just do a single knot, but a good double looks better

Have you ever noticed they only show the cheerleaders from the waist up most of the time. I want legs!!!

Ah, laddie, there was a time when they did. But, then came Helen Reddy singing "I Am Woman" and the whole women's rights movement in the early 70s.

Protests were filed with the league and boycotts were planned against the networks.

Risque low-angle shots of high-kicking cheerleaders were banned.

You can thank the "ladies" at N.O.W.

This is because the camera guys are breast guys. I am a booty guy myself,...but I'll take anything over ..... the clowns in the booth.

Primadox,... you are one sick person!

ps,... I 'll pass on whatever booty picture you can fine,...really its ok! :ezbill:

To argue the proper way to tie a tie is entirely subjective and a bit ridiculous. Moreover, I don't think the military has final say on appropriate fashion trends.

Apparently King Edward VIII, who later became the Duke of Windsor, popularized the fat tie knot, so I'll study him if I want to learn the "proper" way to wear the Full Windsor. Lastly, the point of my original comment: Ridiculing Irvin's tie as a new ghetto style is off-base.
