Did I win or lose this Saints argument? (1 Viewer)

Someone said losing Rankins devastates our playoffs hopes and that we NEED Rankins.

I then said I don't think losing him devastates out playoff hopes because our defense as a whole is vastly improved and also a Fairly/Davision DT combo is already an upgrade from what we had last year. Also out offense should remain top 5 or so.

He then said Rankins plays nose tackle and that Davison plays another position and Fairly is a rotational player at best. Also to trust him on this because we will need Rankins.

I think said well if you look at the depth chart on the Saints website they have moved to a more base 4-3 defense and Rankins was listed at right DT and Davision at left DT. So now Fairly presumably takes Rankins spot but regardless of having Rankins or not, the Saints are going to use different looks and rotations anyways on defense.

I also mentioned that if our playoff hopes depended on one rookie DT then we are a very bad team anyways. It takes all the players and just not one rookie to make the playoffs. Also the only player that we probably NEED to make the playoffs is arguably Drew Brees. I could see our chances being devastated if God forbid, Drew Brees went down.

You're right because:

1. You took off your homer glasses.

2. You supported your argument with the facts.

3. You exposed an obvious Falcons' troll :ezbill:

:gosaints:

You're not alone. He posts his "articles" if you can even call them that, in one of the groups I was added to awhile back. As you said, just reading the headlines make me roll my eyes. :jpshakehead:

I think I'm in the same group as you.

Which of their dads would win in a fight?

Screw it the argument is public already on Facebook so no harm in sharing a screen shot.

More accurate info for y'all as I just summarized in the OP. I'm Arief Harlan btw. I'm not afraid to share my opinions.

He seems like one of those people who has to constantly convince himself he's never wrong. Hard to converse with people who can only see their side of things.

That dude also beefs with people on Twitter, thinks he is the only opinion that matters. His titles are sickening, and he contradicts himself constantly. Doesn't even live in New Orleans (Indy) FWIW

Oh wow so I'm not the only one that disagrees with his Saints opinions. I noticed some people on the comments section of his post slightly disagree at times but most sort of go with him.

Sheldon Rankins is more pivotal to our team when he's gone than when we had him healthy.

How the hell does that work? Is he Harambe?

Just watch him on Twitter and you'll see.

6 to 8 weeks recovery time. Not the entire season. Anyone shoveling dirt on the season because of this injury is being ridiculous. His loss sucks and he will lose valuable playing time (he's still a rookie and needs experience) but he will return early in the year and should contribute.

I'm guessing this same person who said losing Rankins devastates our playoff hopes would say just the opposite had he not gotten injured. Something to the effect of: " Drafting Rankins won't better the Saints playoff chances". Whatever, let them say what they want, bottom line is we are going to make the playoffs. Who Dat!

Great point, Ti Rider, and I agree with it x100. S.Rankins will return, this year, from this injury. Broken bones are -way- different from tendon or ligament damage. Bones knit or heal with very, very positive results. Also, the Saints trainer staff prolly have all the latest cool-*** calcium supplements and such for strong, healthy bones growth.

All within the legal confines of the CBA and NFL thuggery dialog, of course.

As someone who as "enjoyed" many fractured bones, S.Rankins will have fun with a life time of arthritis in his fracture leg bone. #joynonestop. #dontgetold

Once a broke bones fully heal, it actually come back stronger. The body is force to generate new bones cells. Because of his age being so young, he can fully recover quicker.
