First of all, I am 100% Joe Horn fan and want him to retire as a Saint. Also, it makes me sick to see him not be able to be part of this playoff run as he's now done for the year.

As far as this talk from Donte about Horn getting the Shaft, I find it hard to believe even if Horn does feel that way. Just look at how Drew Brees has spread the ball. Everyone is getting in on the game but the waterboy.

Now, my question to all.............Do you think Joe Horn did enough for himself this season ?? With Brees hitting every man that's open, I feel Joe didn't make enough opportunity for himself to make plays with Brees. I recall him dropping more than catching and not being open as often as the others.

It's like Brees and Horn never got on the same page. Hopefully they do in the future. If it were up to me, I'd like to see Horn be the most successful receiver on our team. But, he's gotta make that happen.

I'malso a big fan of his, who isn't, but Joe is getting long in the tooth. He's not as fast as he used to be and doesn't seem to be as durable. It may be that he's bitter over not being our #1 when the Saints finally start acheiving. IMO, he's been a big part of the season and however deep in the playoffs the Saints go, deserves props as much as anyone.

Joe doesn't care about whether he's the #1 option or not. He has said time and time again that he wished someone would knock him down to #2 because the team would be that much better for it. I think the only thing that's upsetting Joe is the fact that he's hurt to the point that he can't contribute. I also think even if he's not 100%, he will will himself into the lineup for the playoffs. Of the players on the current roster, no one deserves to enjoy a playoff run more than Joe does.

.

Are you privileged to some sort of injury report information that the rest of us have not been privy to? Last I'd heard, the "out for the season" rumor was refuted as such by his agent on Monday. He is listed as questionable for this week, not doubtful, and last I'd heard is going to try to give it a go on Sunday. Even if he doesn't play the last 3 games of the season, i think it's waaaaay premature to say he's out for the season.

We all love Joe but the bottom line is he is making way too much money considering he only plays like half a season nowadays. His has the will, but his mid 30's body can't handle a 16 game season anymore.

Horn is making waaay too much money considering how much he plays. Considering also the emergence of Devery, Colston, and Bush(As a wr threat) this makes him the odd man out next year or DEFINITELY the year after that.

However, it would be nice if Joe would take a paycut because I would love to see him retire a Saint. However, in today's NFL at least one team will pony up and overpay someone so I do not see that happening. I look for Horn to end his career with the Raiders or Skins.

No. He's only dropped a couple. He's been layed out and made some spectacular money catches. I'm sorry to see his groin screwed up, but pain is pain. Just him being on the team is enough for me.

Joe Horn is the man.

:worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

His 2006 numbers, though down from his many Pro Bowl seasons, are still part of the reason we have the Number 1 Offense in the league.

37 Receptions
679 Yards
18.4 Average Yards Per Catch
76 Longest
10 20+ Catches
3 40+ Catches
28 First Downs

Money.

IMO Joe is the Saints. He has stood up for this team against Ricky Williams, many more and even to the fans. Joe adds personalty to this team which is otherwise non existent. The man lays himself out every game. I recall he had some pretty long TDs from Brees when healthy and caught the balls. He is professional even when things are going wrong. For us to throw him under the bus now would be hypocritical as much as fans cry about loyalty well here's a chance to show some. Joe deserves to retire a Saint.

We don't agree too much on EE tak, but your post was right on bro.

You love Joe? Right!!! He has been the heart and sould of this team since he got here. Give the guy some respect. He earned the right to get paid for what he has done. PAYCUT? If you were injured on the job and had full benefits would you take a paycut?

that one handed catch was this year, right ?? Joe's still got it. even if he's hurt more than he'd like this year.

I don't think Joe gets cut or traded because Payton and Loomis as high a salary we might think Joe has it doesn't out weighwhat they , and we know he brings to this team. He is still productive and they know that. Colston will be the #1 in a few years but Joe is still THE #1 END OF STORY. Joe is a leader just as much as Brees only he doesn't get as much pub as the new kid on the block because he has been doing it so long its almost expected, like a Jim Hasslett def. is expected to fail. Joe will not be moved.

Joe can still be productive. His salary and what spot he holds are business and football decisions.

I hope the front office and coaching staff make the right decisions whatever that means. Hopefully Joe can retire a Saint- but not at the expense of the team.

Joe is just hurt, thats all, sure he has slowed down.....not to much though I mean he caught a 60+ yarder against the bengals split the db's and ran into the endzone so he can still get downfield...I think he age is why he is injured so much, he is productive when he is in the game.
