I watched most of the Falcons/Panthers game yesterday. I noticed that the Falcons didn't shy aware from attacking the Panther's corners with the deep passing game.

From a running perspective, they only gained 76 yards while averaging 3.6 yards per carry.

It's safe to say that the Falcons attacked the secondary, while running to keep the Panthers honest.

Will we run a similar gameplan?
We don't have a Julio Jones, but we can get creative and take some shots. They will pay attention to Cooks, so i'm thinking Thomas & Coleman should have a breakout game.

I watched the highlights while falling asleep waiting for our own highlights that I'm not sure the late-night talking heads ever got around to...

...but it sounds like a plan, but Thomas and Coleman will have to catch EVERYTHING thrown their way. The old Colston/Meacham/Henderson crew would have a good time with the Kitten secondary right now.

Their secondary is legitimately awful. It's no longer a fluke.

They get very little pass rush as well. They are still really good against the run though.

But none of that matters if we can't contain Newton and play good defense.

Sure. But we can't take anything for granted. They'll be a tough out, they always are. They still have Jonathan Stewart. The annoying dude always seems good for at least one 60 yard touchdown per season when we play.

Falcons offensive line did an amazing job particularly Alex Mack, those two big guys Short and Star was almost non existing in the game.

I think he's been diagnosed with a concussion. What are the chances he doesn't play in week 6?

I can dream, right?
If he were any other player, given how bad it looked and the fact that he's clearly had prior concussions this season that weren't properly handled, he'd probably be out 2-3 weeks under the new protocol.

But he's Newton, so he'll be back at practice on Wednesday I'm sure.

Honestly, Derek Anderson may be a tougher out than Newton this year given how he's played. Maybe it's better he plays as crazy as that sounds.

I don't know who started the "blueprint" thing over at ESPN, but really, it is a fallacy.
You can't do the same things another team did without the same personnel or playbook, playing in the same conditions.

You'd think that after getting totally whacked by Mauti while showboating by trotting into the endzone to taunt Vaccaro who was trailing him that he would not have tried to walk into the end zone on that 2 point conversion that got him concussed yesterday.

All he had to do was actually run into the endzone and not walk in so that everyone could see how easy it was for him to get in and he'd not be in the situation he's in right now. (Not to mention the fact they were losing and he was still trying to showboat...)

Will this dude ever learn?

Valid point, Panthers really aren't the same without Norman and starting 2 inexperienced CB's though. Both lines have regressed as well, not much pressure and giving up hits on the QB. There is a reason they are 1-3.

I believe the blueprint is to not have your entire secondary injured. Can we somehow follow that?

We need to get hits on Cam early and often.

Yknow, legally of course.
Exactly!
I hope DA draws up a gameplan where we put a "hat" on him every play. If we sit back, then he's going to pick us apart and rip off a few runs here n there.

I miss that crew. Our best bet is to hope for some 1 on 1 match ups down the field. We need to make those safeties and corners play back.

If a team figures out how to exploit a weakness, I can guarantee that someone will follow it or try something very similar. It happens all the time.

Falcon receivers were wide open all day. Ryan had over 500 yards passing.
