If we go 1st round receiver, I would much rather Cordarelle Patterson who is an elite play maker and will probably be a better player than Julio Jones with Brees. Patterson can also stretch the field MUCH better than Allen and has the ABILITY to take it to the house everytime.
I actually watched Patterson play quite a bit this past season, and while he has explosiveness and great measurables, his hands and overall game were pretty inconsistent.
Keenan Allen doesn't have Patterson's speed, but he's a better overall WR, and had he played with a QB that wasn't below-average, I think he'd be the unquestioned #1 Wide-Out in this draft.
While I like Patterson, I think he's risky. I would feel better about Deandre Hopkins from the Clemson Tigers than Patterson. Hopkins is a very good all-around WR, and he has big time speed too.
