TAMPA -- When Zach Strief learned Thursday he'd be starting at left tackle for the New Orleans Saints on the road at Tampa Bay, he went to veteran guard Jamar Nesbit for advice.
"Don't worry," Nesbit told him. "We've got your back."
Turns out it was the Saints who didn't have to worry.
Who is Zach Strief?
He's a 6-foot-7, 349-pound rookie who played every offensive snap for the Saints on Sunday, filling in for Jammal Brown, who was out with a sprained ankle. He's a seventh-round draft pick from Northwestern who, until now, hadn't logged a single down in the NFL.
"Heck, I hadn't even put on a uniform until (Sunday)," Strief said.
He was the 210th player chosen in this year's draft.
