I was having a dsicussion with a buddy of mine tonight who is also a member of the board and of course a saints fan. He said that if Jacksonville called and wanted to trade Maurice Jones-Drew staight up for Reggie Bush, money and cap hits not being considered, he would do it in a heart beat. What do you guys think? No way I give up Bush. Jones-Drew is an awesome kick returner and shows great flash running the ball but I don't see him being better than Reggie. Both play great features on their teams but all said and done I keep Reggie. Thoughts?

Jones Drew has a really annoying personality. Classic short man syndrome. That is all.

no i would never do that. with a better o line bush would be better and he needs to start returning kicks and punts to show his real ability.

He returned punts his rookie year. He goes 21 yards back and then gains 4 off of the 21 he originally lost.

Bush and Drew have two completely different roles on there teams and two different styles of play. We are a passing team, they are a running team. Bush could be is an excellent receiver, Drew is a nice outlet option out of the back field. It is pretty much how you run your team. Drew could fit on this team just like bush on theres, but Drew would be more in the stecker role on our team and bush would be a compliment to Taylor. They are too different in there attributes. I think both are fine where they are at. Now if we was a dominant run team then Drew would be the guy but we are a team that our pass sets up our run.

Drew's first season was a fluke, what running back averages almost 6 yards a carry on a regular basis?

Again, when does 1 game make a career?
No but when you do it against a conference opponent in the fourth quarter to win it, its hard to ignore. I hope you say the same thing when you post about pierre thomas.

so far Jones-Drew has been ALOT better than Bush. but i'm not ready to pass up Bush's potential just yet. *shrug*
I agree, he has been much better than Reggie but i think we have seen the best of Jones Drew. I don't see him keeping that level of production year in and year out. Just my opinion.

Reggie is the better receiver (better than just about any RB, in fact), and he's faster...but Jones-Drew kills him in every other aspect of the game.

MJD is much better rounded as a RB: has speed, good hands, extreme strength for his size, very good blocker. Reminds me of Barry Sanders.

I would accept the trade because jones-drew is just a cheaper version of reggie bush. Reggie bush hasn't lived up to his hype. Jones-drew has been more productive for the jags.
