I'll never forget a college party I went to at the old brewery on Tulane ave. That said, do you think the name "Dixie" make African-Americans feel all warm and sunny inside? Even the girl group is changing its name. It's 2020, not 1920.

i actually wish there was a way to reclaim dixie
it's a good reminder of the gallic influence on the region that reeks these days of obsessively anglo ways of seeing the world

but clearly the song is much more what is remembered than just about anything else (written just a few year after the civil war)

They are. By standing up to all the people too racist or too dense to see that what has ben happening in this country for far too long is wrong. The reason the rest of the world has passed us by is because a large portion of the population is living in the past.
