This is the one Saints fans and analysts have been talking about on Twitter for months. Do the Saints go after Gerald McCoy now that he’s cut?

If you don’t have Twitter you might not know anything’s even going on. If you do, you know that Saints analysts and fans have been licking their chops for the past few months as the drama in Tampa Bay has unfolded in which star defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has been on the verge of being released over failed contract talks. And the time is now here as Buccaneers are officially releasing the nine-year veteran today.
So, are the Saints in the picture on this one? McCoy was officially signed about three months ago by any Saints fan with a Twitter account. We haven’t heard anything from anybody above that pay grade.
McCoy first came into the NFL out of Oklahoma, the third overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The Saints didn’t have much of a shot at getting McCoy then coming off their Super Bowl win and picking last in the first round. We did get Patrick Robinson and we’ve to Patrick Robinson back now, so why not McCoy?
