NFL Draft Do we / should we use 2020 draft capital to move up this year? (1 Viewer)

Doesn’t apply, it’s a smart tactic for us because we have limited roster spots, much rather trade up for a player we like at a position of need

New England seems to make it work year after year, picking at the bottom of each round. More picks gives you more flexibility to maneuver, and picking high leads to salary cap Hell, can't pay everybody, I stand by my statement.

No! We need to get picks not give up future pics. This is why the Saints are none existing in the 2019 draft. Our first pick is at the end of the 2nd rd, for goodness sake! We have no 3 or 4 picks, which is sickening. Our picks in the 5th rd, are probably at the end as well. We're the only team that is not participating in the 2019 draft, with insignificant picks in the 5,and 7 rounds. This is almost as bad as Mike Ditka giving away all our picks for one player, who didn't do a thing for us.
I pray Davenport, Bridgewater, and Apple are worth it.

Much like the folly of Socialism, this 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' mentality eventually catches up with you, like it has this year. I'd prefer staying pat and keeping our resources which we'll need in the future.
Totally agree....the way the 1st round fell....there is a player that will be there with 62nd pick....I can see the our FO trading back 7-10 slots into the 3rd to get a low3rd/hi4th adder....

If we stay put at 62, but we still see another player available we think would come in and contribute this year, I am okay with using a pick from next year (it would most likely be our 2020 second round, plus something).

I can't believe it, we actually stayed put. Never thought I'd see the day.
