I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not really knowledgeable when it comes to Basketball, or familiar with the Hornets history. By watching this season and looking at the lack of talent makes me wonder about the good players that we either traded or let walk. Of course we know that Chris Paul wanted to leave and David West(I think) wanted to leave as well.
Some of the people that left, we now need players at that position. We traded Jarrett Jack, Marcus Thornton, we didn’t resign Carl Landry or Chris Kaman. Were these guys let go because our coaching staff/front office thought we had better players? Or were they salary related? From what I understand, we have some decent cap room. With that being said, do you trust our GM & Head coach?

None of the guys you mentioned were players you'd want to have on a rebuilding team like the Hornets. It comes down to salary, length of contract, age, giving development minutes to younger players, and other things. I feel like the vast majority of Hornets fans who closely follow the team trust the front office very much.

Landry and Kaman were salary losses. Paul did good going to the Clippers, look where they're at now. Thornton isn't doing much. West had a good run but he wanted out. None of them were really messy situations. Hell, Gordon is the biggest headache the Hornets have had since coming to New Orleans. I want him to stay in New Orleans and be a part of something big but he has to want it too.

I like Monty Williams and I trust the front office moving forward. Be patient, this team is still atleast 2 or 3 years away from being contenders. Hopefully we can get some talent in the draft or via free agency and make a playoff push next year. Have to give the fans something to get hyped about so they'll actually go to the games and support the team. Vasquez, Davis, Gordon, and Anderson are all very talented and all young. Great nucleus to build around. Small forward scoring and depth across the board is what the Hornets need.

Spot on. We have a good nucleus for the future. No we need a bench and this team will be a playoff team.

Hornets are a legit 2-3 guy away from being a contender. If only Aminu could develop faster...

This is pretty accurate as far as non-causal fans that I know as well

Dell Demps will be compared as the Mickey Loomis of basketball soon. He has already dug this team out of the monumental hole Jeff Bowers and the previous administration dug New Orleans into with bloated contracts for aging stars. The Pelicans will have a lot of money and cap space to be one of the most active teams if not the most active team in free agency. While that doesn't mean they they will land all the best free agents, but they won't be out bid on a guy they really want. Right now Dell and Monty have a clean canvas to work with and some pretty vibrant colors to paint with in Davis, Anderson etc. I think we'll really start to see the direction this team will be headed during and after this off season.

which is why I said we are a 2/3 guy away from being a contender

Is Benson going to give Monty the time? I thought the Hornets would have been better than what they are this season, still didn't think playoff's(yet). If Monty doesn't make a playoff run next season, I can see him being done

Thankfully Mr. Benson has the experience (With the Saints) to know that championships aren't won over night, and teams cannot be rebuilt in one season (or less). Dell Demps' and I believe Monty Williams' contracts were extended this past off-season so we won't hav eto worry about any of those distractions. They are two of the most promising young guys in the NBA management IMO.
