I've argued for splitting the QB work load between Drew and Taysom. When Drew is on fire there is none better. Taysom is another gear in the transmission when Drew starts to bog down.
That said. do you think the Saints have a moral obligation to give Drew a farewell season, or two, even if the team is weaker for it? Every new Drew contract means taking an axe to future cap limits. This year we start with a Drew cap hit of around 20 million even if we don't resign him.
The saints salary structure is out of whack. If this keeps up, deferred payments will bury us in just a few years.
Let Drew sign a big pay day with another team and reset the salary clock with Taysom for 40 million over 3 years with 20 million guaranteed.
