Don’t you dare blame Jameis (2 Viewers)

I mean, he kinda has though.
Thanks for proving me right.

Make no mistake, we will have a bad offense this year. But with Winston, it will at least be entertaining, in a crazy way. It will be like Aaron Brooks with better receivers and a worse line. We won't go deep in the playoffs, but we might beat the Falcons.

Plenty of blame to go around, all I know is that this loss says alot about our team. I was cautiously optimistic of this team and in one quarter I've lost all that optimism. Mostly because this Oline is going to get any QB we put out there hurt!!

I’ve been watching bad offense all season (regardless of who was under center).
Exactly

Like I said, you’re making excuses. Again, Jameis has been our backup longer than he’s been our QB1. Those systems you keep trying to act like drastically changed were pretty much the same since he’s been on the team.

You act like Payton and Carmichael didn’t design the offense together. Pete isn’t some new hire. The terminology wasn’t dramatically switched out when Carmichael became the OC. If that were true, you’d have heard more from skills players who’ve been on the team the same amount of time as Jameis, how different the new calls/terminology were from years past.

I never said all the blame is on Jameis. I don’t think most of the blame should be on him. But he does‘t get a pass like he’s some rookie with no feel for the skills players on the team or the system he’s called to execute. If he’s still having issues playing w/in the system, then he is of no use to us.
What excuse did I make? You said that he has been in the system 4 years and I corrected that incorrect statement. And if you don't know that these systems are different, I don't know what to tell you. We were sitting here talking about the return of motion and Kamara at receiver when we saw that heavy when the offense opened up in 2021. The 2021 offense was not like what we ran with Drew because we had to accommodate for the lack of Drew's arm strength. You call those excuses (for whatever reason) and anyone looking at the game can see that this is reality. Nothing about the offense that Pete Carmichael, Jr. ran out there last season and this season is anything like we have seen with Sean Payton. Terminology will probably be there but that doesn't make the offense the same.

To give you your credit, you've been building up the pre-excuses for any Jameis failure since the first game of this year. All the references to 'since 2021' haven't exactly been hard to spot 🤣

It's real devotion to the cause on your part.
Nope, I've been talking about why this offense will fail. Some of us actually look at what's happening on the field instead of putting all of our energy into nitpicking what the QB does. The play calling has been trash since the beginning of last season, the O-line and run game has been bad since 2021. I'm on record saying these thing while others were blaming the QBs..lol

Unfortunately it’s 2023 and post ACL Winston either refuses to run or simply can’t. Either way he doesn’t thrive in chaos, he simply adds to it
I won't say he add to it because he ran the crap plays that were called but I did notice that a run he would make without hesitation previously, he didn't. Concerning.

I appreciate your devotion to the cause. You certainly have been saying all these things, just that it's actually been in order to keep building up those excuses ('since 2021' lol) for whenever JW came in.

Agreed on this, if he's also playing scared of the knee, back or whatever, that's putting us and him in a worse situation.

This game is on Carmichael and the Oline. Carmichael was calling a pretty decent game up until Carr got injured. I can understand Carmichael going conservative on Jameis' first possession but he should have opened the playbook back up after that. He definitely should have opened it up after the Packers put up 10 points. Instead he didn't start calling decent plays until that last possession. As for the O-line, they're the reason Carr got hurt. He didn't hold onto the ball too long. That play was developing and his receivers were covered. The O-Line has been suspect since preseason. They've done little to open running lanes and they've failed to protect a QB with a history of being healthy. DA needs to fire Carmichael before Carmichael gets everyone fired.

Meanwhile, the Defense got tired from all those 3 and outs and the Packers got hot.

Carr went out and the playcalling went straight to "not to lose" mode...throw in some timely Penning penalties and a directive to play it safe...it was a perfect storm proving that Dennisball doesn't work.

Jameis put together a drive at the end that had us in position to win....kicker missed, sheet happens....not his fault.

Yup, we saw this same philosophy not work to perfection last year, I sure hope it is the last we see of it.....

I actually don't think it matters (as much as others), who the QB is right now, we have larger problems.....An offensive line that has inexplicably regressed and a HC that has no confidence in the offense to win games in an NFL whose rules are largely slanted to favoring the offensive side of the ball......

Said it before...and I really don't mean any disrespect to DA...But he does not know how to win games in today's NFL.

Yep...Taysom and Jameis both have injury histories. Unless our OL can at least elevate themselves to mediocrity or Pete can have a playcalling epiphany, I think whatever QB we have is going to get murdered.
