Going dove hunting this weekend.

I typically use the same gun for doves as I use for ducks. Benelli black eagle semi auto. I just don’t think it’s the best option and would like to buy an alternative to try.

Friends say over / under is best.

I used to use an over / under but don’t remember how I did with it. It was stolen.

Suggestions?

I still use my duck gun. I have a Stoeger M3500. Why would you only set yourself up with 2 shots? I've hit flocks of dove that I've needed all 3 shells. I've never understood the pull towards over unders.

I agree that 3 shots is better than 2 with Doves. They're fast and they're often in flocks. Makes sense.
The o/u attraction imo is simplicity. Fewer parts to break and easier to clean. Otherwise though, I think semi auto has the edge.
