Another small school prospect, this time a 2nd day prospect OT from University of Arkansas Pinebluff

Terron Armstead
6'5" 310lbs with a frame to add weight. Great size, long arms, very athletic with quick feet. Has a mean streak when run blocking and finishes blocks. Has good speed and was even used to pull from LOT to running plays on the right side of the line. May run as fast as 4.8 at combine. He is a 3 year starter and dominated, particularly the last two. Despite playing at a small school he does seem to be well coached and while not polished he could contribute right away. When he locks on to a block he drives guys back. Gets to second level with ease and does a great job getting out front in the screen game. The negatives on him is he hasn't faced elite competition and needs more coaching. He went to small school because he wasn't highly recruited but is certainly a late bloomer getting much bigger. He still needs to add about 15lbs. Doesn't always play with good leverage in space.

This is just him messing around running a 40 in the snow but you can clearly see the athletic ability

Here he is with a 60' shot throw which is borderline olympic type distance. Not that it means much.

Seems extremely athletic, could be a real nice steal but I would want him to put on like10 more lbs as he seems to lean, may need more weight to hold his own against power rushers.

He was 6'3" 275lbs coming out of high school.

According to some draft websites he started this season at 6'5" 310lbs but ended the season at 6'5" 320lbs and still has room to get bigger with his frame without losing much athleticism. By the looks of it he is only gaining lean muscle mass and not getting fat just to gain weight which is what you want to see.

He was the 40th ranked lineman for the state of Illinois coming out of High School. Major colleges didn't want him because he wasn't as big as they like for OT and too thin for OG. With the extra 2" he grew, the 45lbs of lean muscle he added, all the experience he gained at UAP and now suddenly he grew into a hell of prospect.

He is good but no way he is anywhere near proven for us or really any team to take in the 1st. Earliest I see him is 3rd.

Yeah, I don't think he is going in the first round. Meant he is going in the first 3 rounds by saying first day pick. Still haven't got used to them only doing the first round on the first day.

Terron Armstead OT Arkansas Pine Bluff

Day two prospect...Impressed in the shrine game,,and was even invited to the senior bowl as replacement for a injured player. Pulls very well,,Excellent Feet and Quickness. Reminds me of Bushrod. Strong points and weaknesses. Needs to get more lower body strength as did Bushrod. But has potential to be very good in pass pro. And he sells the screens and fakes very well, would translate well into what we do.
