Tony Pauline has become one of the better follows wrt NFL reporting. He’s done the draft most of his career, but he’s also been ahead of a lot of the recent labor stuff.

Anyway, here’s a link to his latest and a quick blurb on the Saints:

“Yesterday, I mentioned that numerous general managers expect 15 receivers to be selected during the initial two rounds of the draft. Some are saying as many as 25 receivers could be drafted by the time the third round closes out.
Word at the NFL Combine is that the New Orleans Saints could select at least two of those 25 receivers. With Drew Brees announcing he will be returning to the Saints in 2020 and the need to add depth at the receiver position around Michael Thomas, sources in Indianapolis tell me it’s very likely the Saints use both the 24th and 88th selections of the draft on a receiver.”

Wouldn’t be surprising. This is a historic class. Think back to when the Saints took Cooks. Would you have been opposed to them getting Cooks and Landry?
Exactly.

It just so happens our biggest weakness right now is also the biggest strength in the draft.

As much as I’d love to see someone like Sanders or Randall Cobb, getting multiple players on rookie deals would be outstanding.

I hope so!!! And if it happens.... it will be interesting to see how all of those on here who constantly talked about how we were fine at receiver...respond. We had the worst WR corp in the league last season, collectively.

I like it.. address Corner, Linebacker, Guard in Free Agency; and go get the best receivers you can get in the Draft.

Would be setting up the Receiver group for the next 5 or so years.

If the Saints can come away with Jalen Reagor, and Denzil Mims that would be quite the haul ...

or Laviska, and Antonio Gandy-Golden.

We need a Mike clone in round 3. Several GM's would shoot themselves.
Michael Pittman Jr. is drawing some comparisons to Michael Thomas, stylistically.

Pittman's route running isn't there yet but he has a massive imposing, frame and he just bullies Corners off the line and at the top of routes..

I like Jefferson and Shenault. Jefferson already knows the playbook and would be a plug and play slot wr. Shenault is a wild card in the mold of Sammy Watkins, also a slot wr, but the saints still need to go after Perriman.
