I was watching the last game for about the third time. I noticed something on a pass to Lance in the first quarter. He pump faked then went right to a pass. I saw the pump fake but I swear the actual pass was so fast I couldn't see it. Any body else have this issue. Or am I just getting old. The pump fake is like a little wind up and the pass is even quicker than his normal release. If the hand is quicker than the eye, is the Breese pump then pass quicker than the eye as well?

I don't see so well, but it happens to me a lot. I'm constantly rewinding my DVR during commercials.

I saw that too. It's a pump fake to Bush who's slipped out of the backfield to the LOS in the middle, and then a quick pass to Moore a little to the right of Bush.

Brees does the quick fake to Bush about 1X or 2X per game. They must believe it buys space for the WR/TE who gets the actual pass.

On the NFL replay they show an angle that slows the play down. It almost looks like he pump fakes it to Moore.

Pump fakes are very important to shorter QB's. Drew uses it for more than that. He uses the pump fake to get people leaning in 1 direction, then throws in the other direction.

Everything was fast that game. There was a ferociousness to the offense last game in not only that play, but the check-offs. Usually when Drew kills a play he gives a few seconds but this one he killed plays and snapped the ball practically in the same breath.

If Drew didn't pump fake that game, the Giants would have won.

I saw that too, and it blew me away. It looked like it wasn't a normal pump fake, but in fact a last second decision to abort the designed play and go with a checkdown. It seemed to me he was going to throw it to bush and at the last second saw Moore with a better look so he was able to pull in the throw that was underway at the last second and quick-fire a bullet to Moore before the window closed. It was very impressive and left me with my jaw open trying to explain what i Just saw to my friends who were busy high-fiving. I just let it go, and maybe I am wrong, but this play really impressed me with how fast smart and accurate Drew really is. :worthy:

It's "little" things like this that make opposing secondaries start fighting with each other. When the Giants' corner and safety started arguing after the Colston TD, it was clear they were dead. :17:
