I’m not a doctor, but all things considered, this is the best news we could have gotten right?

The silver lining is a couple of weeks off will give his body some much needed time to heal up from his other ailments. Everyone keep the faith, this team is built to face adversity and they will play their hearts out for Drew.

This is probably on top of whatever else he was already wearing a flak jacket for so...yeah...he most likely needs to sit at least a few weeks and get his 41 year old body right.

As long as the team can keep winning or stay ahead of pitch count they should let him rest and if he can get back for a couple of tune up games pre-playoffs then great. But they have to all come together and keep winning. They will all be tough games.

Doesn't sound too serious..Brees will be itching to get back out there and this allows Saints to showcase Winston like Bridgewater, assuming he doesn't turn into a pick machine...not ruling out Winston as the heir to Brees, just highly doubt it

sounds like about the best we could've hoped for. so much for the idea that we were "faking" the rib injury and it' was really his shoulder that was hurt.

The good news with a contusion is that after some rest while the inflammation subsides (could be a few weeks), you can do pain management to come back a bit sooner than you could for broken ribs.

However, as we've seen this year, getting a needle in the ribs isn't always a safe situation and Drew may opt to avoid that risk.
