This is a work place injury. The team and or their insurance will cover any and all necessary rehab to get him back on the field.
Correct. There are pages in the CBA governing the Club's responsibility for the player's medical treatment, second opinions, player's choice of surgeon, etc.

If he’s having it with Shinn, you would think that the timetable would match the previous report of 6 weeks, given that it’s the same doc who initially gave it.
6-8 weeks. I think Brees wanted it dwindled down to at least 4 weeks but the doc in Houston prob said the same thing. Knowing Brees though he may come back in 4 weeks and be great. I think that may all depend on our record by that time tho. Lol.

But let's hope the surgery goes well and he does have a healthy and speedy recovery.

So what does surgery do to the timetable?
They don't know exactly what's going on until they do the surgery. There may be damage they can't see on the x-rays and MRIs. It's probably the 6 weeks they said before, but it could be longer. Be able to tell if Drew goes on IR.

I hope it goes well for him, hate to see injuries to any player.

Yeah, this really is a scary time for him (and his legion of fans and well-wishers.)

Once he’s opened up, they’ll have the whole picture of how bad this injury really is. Hopefully it’s not worse than expected.

Keep those good thoughts going to our boy Drew and his doctor.
