The Star Ledger reports the Giants have waived talented but troubled DT Manny Wright after one season in East Rutherford.

He's the guy the Dolphins drafted in the fifth round of the 2005 supplemental draft out of University of Southern California.

Then-head coach Nick Saban wanted to upgrade the defensive line, and he thought Wright could help. Well, it didn't quite turn out like that. In fact, during training camp that year, Saban actually made Wright cry during practice. I think it says something when a 5'9", 180-pound 40-something-year-old, can make an 6'3", 330-pound 18-year-old cry.

I believe after that incident he was diagnosed with depression. Wasn't he out of the league for a while because of this condition? On that note, was he the same Dolphin that tried to commit suicide by taking a bunch of aspirin or something??

I know that's a bunch of crazy stuff, but I want to know if I'm confusing him with someone else on the suicide part.
