Dwight Smith-DB-Vikings Feb. 20 - 4:37 pm et

Vikings released FS Dwight Smith.

He would've cost the Vikings $3.1 million in 2008 and Brad Childress had enough of Smith's off-field antics. Minnesota's pass defense was also very mediocre last year. Smith may struggle to find a starting job in free agency.
Seems he wore out his welcome in Minnesota too. And before anyone says it.....no we don't need to sign him again.......

maybe i missed the boat on why we let him go. He was easily the best safety we had since sammy knight. Spare me on the character issues which are overated in some cases. He is light years better than anyone on the roster. Somebody please explain why we would not even consider it. To me its a no brainer.

My uncle is a Detective in Tampa and all I can say is THUG. I know I am believing the Tampa fan but seriously the second we signed him he told me he would be great if he did not destroy the locker room or get in trouble.

Search around. Theres a lengthy thread about him and all his problems, plus breakdowns of his play. I think you'll see theres no reason to sign this guy.
