The Philadelphia Eagles are underdogs again, only this time they deserved this moniker. After an embarrassing 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football and traveling to the SuperDome to face the New Orleans Saints, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone the Eagles are underdogs.

Per Vegas Insider, the Eagles (4-5) are nine-point underdogs (+9) to the Saints (8-1) with the over/under at 54.5, which is the highest over/under of the year.

That over/under line has nothing to do with the Eagles offense, which has been below average through nine games. Philadelphia is 21st in points per game (22.0) and 13th in yards per game (372.9). The Eagles are 20th in yards per play (5.6) and 12th in third-down conversion rate (41.18 percent) and 17th in red zone scoring percentage (55.88 percent). Philadelphia is 22nd in the league in rushing (102.7 yards per game) and 11th in passing (270.2 yards per game).

Comparing to last year when Frank Reich was the offensive coordinator through nine games. Philadelphia was second in points per game (31.4) and fourth in yards per game (377.0). The Eagles were sixth in yards per play (5.7) and third in third-down conversion rate (46.83 percent) and first in red zone scoring percentage (72.41 percent). ...
