No, I think he is trying to illustrate that all Presidents grant pardons and commutations and that this is not unusual. Please note that this guy did spend 20 years in prison, so it is not like he has not paid any price for what he did. This is not Saints related, so it should be sent to the political board.

Obama commuted the sentences of hundreds of non-violent drug offenders who were serving what amounted to life sentences and had already served a decade + of their sentence.

Presidents typically wait until they're on their way out the door to do their pardons too.

Not a fan of pardoning someone who necessarily doesn't deserve it.

I think commutations are fine in cases where the sentencing was out of whack for the crime.
