Saints are obviously thin at WR. Wondering why they don't give him a shot. I know he was supposedly a camp beast last year but failed to deliver on the big stage but he knows the system and maybe he can come in and help out in the Saints time of need.
I think that shows you there’s an issue with him. Whether it’s mental or physical IDK but we’ve been very thin at WR and he hasn’t been called. I think it’s also telling that he’s had opportunities with other teams and couldn’t make anyone else’s roster either.

I would trade LM away in a heartbeat if it fixed what everyone here says is our biggest issue. What can he even do that Kamara isn't doing right now but better? We don't need another running back, anyone can fill his role.
May be your opinion but Murray runs hard and is averaging over 4.0 a carry. I prefer Murray to Ingram. he is quicker to the hole and runs behind his pads. He needs more carries but he is also the closer.

Of course Murray is outstanding....BUT.....he if were traded, is there any doubt Payton would still design the offense and it would be productive???
Lose MT, don’t miss a beat. Lose Cook, same. Lose ES, same
Payton can design an offense missing virtually any piece.
Now safety....GOT TO have a good one

So while Murray is playing great, I’d definitely trade him for a safety.

It would surely be more important to the overall success of our team.

Conpkete trust in Payton on offense no matter the pieces.

I think we are a bit lucky to have talent like Murray as the backup/spell to Kamara. He is starter talent. Much like Bridgewater, he's come back from serious injury and proven he's still got it. We were lucky to have Ingram in the #2 for as long as we did.

If we trade Murray and Kamara goes down, what do we have? I'd rather move Sanders or a D-lineman for a safety. Why compromise one position for another? I know Payton can work magic, and we'd be fine as long as Kamara stays healthy, but thats a big if.

Besides, hasn't the consensus been that coaching is the problem, not the players?

I like Murray and currently Ingram is hurt...but Ingram was the better RB when he played for the Saints. Murray is super top heavy. All you have to do to tackle him is grab hold of his shoe laces. He can be effective once he gets a head of steam but he’s a north-south runner with pretty poor leg drive.

Totally disagree. Murray gets extra yards on almost every carry and hits the hole hard and fast.

Why are posters doggin' on TQS? Dude has balled in Cant Guard Mike's absence.

Just his history of inconsistency and injury problems. Not ideal for him to be the main receiver we have to rely on, but of course if he keeps his production up, that’s great. We need him, and I hope he continues taking advantage of his opportunity.

The problem is going to come when teams play press man coverage and blitz at a crucial time. Who does Drew trust to throw the ball to?

Where is the realism that someone is gonna offer up a quality safety for a fairly middling running back? I like Murray but he is far from great. Running backs are not coveted. Nobody would come close to entertaining giving us anything for Murray.

Totally agree with everything you said about Payton.

If I were to be critical, then I would say this about TQS. This is his third year in our system. Last year (his second season) he had a golden opportunity to seize the #2 WR spot, he averaged less than two catches a game. This year, MT goes down in week one, Sanders took awhile to get chemistry with Drew, even caught the Covid, so TQS has had the greatest opportunity of all to showcase that he can be “that dude”. He’s averaging just over 3 catches a game. Could you seriously call that “ballin” out? With our #1 and #2 WRs out, he was second fiddle to a rookie UDFA. That’s pretty telling of what TQS is. Just an average role player.

This ^......say what you will about Murray, no one is going to trade a quality safety for him. So the whole idea of trading him for a safety is a moot point. I think Murray is doing just fine, but regardless of what you think of him, there is no way someone is going to trade a starting quality safety for a 30 year old running back.

I agree, Murray has chronic stumbling problems cant keep his balance when the wind blow!

I can’t remember a time when murray lost yardage on a run. He falls forward on every carry.
