Sunday was the first day of full pads for the Saints at training camp, as they’d suited up in helmets and jerseys for the first two days.
Players didn’t tackle all the way to the ground, but the energy was noticeably up from Friday and Saturday’s practices.
“You get to let loose a little bit, everything you’ve been holding in,” defensive tackle Malcom Brown said. “When you’re not wearing pads, you can’t be on the ground.”
Saints coach Sean Payton said he felt that overall the team “carried the pads well” and that there were a “couple of good (team) periods.” ...
