No!! He was injured most of if not all of last season and what it will take to sign him throws up some huge red flags. There's a reason as to why teams move on from players like Berry.

If it would take a "Byrd like offer" to get him, then no way. If he could be had on a cheaper "show me" deal -- they'd be fools to not, at least, kick the tires.

Of course kicking Berry's tires might land him on the PUP list.

We can't run a cover 2 with Bell.Bell is exceptional in the box, but doesn't have the range to be a cover 2 safety. You bring in another starting caliber safety. This defense jump from good to elite. We cover up our biggest hole on defense... Deep ball defense

Elite is a strong word, easy muchacho. Bell came on as a box safety last year his game matured and he was consistent. PJ manned the nickel like a champ given pRob was lost early in the year. Coleman came in but didnt make the expected impact. With Bell, PJ, and pRob coming back in addition to Williams where does Berry fit?

Go look at Saints Pass D coverage in the deep middle. Best in the league. It is the outside zones that get attack. When I saw he is an
elite middle safety.. I pertain to the middle of the field. He is elite in that area. Williams is an above average safety with room to grow. Cutting the zone smaller for Williams will help him.
