How exactly are the Falcons gonna end up the 5th seed with the cream-puff schedule they have remaining? Their only loss will be against our boyz. Giants, the 3rd seed? Doubt it. No Philly?

I love how the lucky Atlanta Falcons are a sure bet to win out (except against us) to everyone on this board. They could lose 4 out of 5 and I wouldn't be shocked. This may be the worst 9-2 team in the history of sports. Don't get me wrong, they're ok...but I just don't think they're dominant enough to just chalk up 4 or 5 wins.

he said "if we win the south"... if we end with the same record, we won't have won the south
Thank you, but I do know this. I said if we both end up with the same record, they wouldn't end up the fifth seed. Meaning they would win the division.

I don't know why everyone believes that. That is actually a misconception. It is VERY possible for the Saints and the Falcons to end the season with the same record and the Saints win the division. The misconception is based on expectations.
All it takes is one week changed to change the winner in a tie. Example

This week.

Saints lose to Bengals and Atlanta loses to Bucs.

Rest of year Saint's win out and Atlanta only loses to Saints
Both teams are 12-4 and the Saints own the tiebreaker because the FIRST tie breaker is division games and the Saints would have one division loss while the Failcons would have two. This scenario is NOT impossible or even improbable.

So quit ASSUMING that the Failcons will own the tie breaker at the end of the year. They own it NOW, but only by a little.

Kris, I'm referring to the Saints as being the "only team to beat them", as stated in my original post. I much prefer your scenario, I just don't see the Falcons losing to the OVERACHIEVING Bucs.

Oops, Failcons don't already have a division loss. Thought they did. they would have to lose two division games. It is still possible, but not as easy. My mistake. Don't crucify me too bad!

This is a playoff type game for Bucs. They should bring their A game.

hahahha I was right. I need to quit while I'm ahead. If they lose to the Bucs and then lose to the Saints that will be two division losses.
I was counting the future Saint's game as a division loss for Atlanta. Hope I'm right. I'll stop posting in this thread now!!!

I set the criteria to "Defensive Rank" and got this:

1. Saints
2. Giants
3. Bears
4. 49ers
5. Bucs

That would be perfect!

They almost lost last time they played them. If L. Blount converts a 4th and 1, they lose.
