Their fans like to say the New Orleans Saints are flying beneath the radar, but that’s simply not true.

There might have been a bit of turbulence on takeoff, and the rise to 30 points a game took longer than expected. But in the last month, the bell has sounded indicating the Saints are free to move about the cabin, all over the field and maybe even straight back to the Super Bowl.

Thanks.

Our offense looks pretty damn good. The only thing missing from last years offense are the screens and short passing game that we would break for big gains every game. If that begins to happen with PT back, I wouldn't be surprised to see us end the year with a couple 40 burgers.

What changed? PT is still out and Reggie hasn't made that much of an impact yet. Is it Ivory and Jones? Why are teams leaving the passing game open more now? Was it Goodwin getting fully healthy?

Probably has something to do with the consistent success of the running game. Just a guess.:mwink:

You can attribute that to the OL playing better.

I think alot of our downfield passing has come off of the playaction, which has only been set up by finally getting the running game going..

It maybe more along the lines that our passing game is actually putting out points. Drew has been hitting 300 plus all year in yards a game.

The passing game and the running game go hand in hand. Are you saying it's just a coincidence that Drew started having big days consistently when we started running the ball better?

It certainly does, just like on defense coverage and pressure go hand in hand. Drew has been good all season and the passing game for the most part has always "clicked" it's the reason we are 9-3, I think that the significance is that we are actually scoring points in the passing game now, more TD's less fieldgoals and turnovers.

Obviously its the running game, Payton has done a good job sticking with it the past few weeks. Plus Meachem coming back into form helps also.

Reading this article, I noticed Pat Y kept talking about what the fans are saying.

Their fans like to say the New Orleans Saints are flying beneath the radar.

The early-season panic that swept Bourbon Street ...

Early in the year ... conspiracy theories were flying.

There were even rumors that Brees was playing despite major knee damage.

talk of the “Madden Curse’’ has pretty much disappeared over the last month

I think Pat Y has been lurking on SR. :ezbill:
