Ingram is averaging over 4 yards per carry. Not sure why people are bashing that.

The Saints have been at or near the top ten in time of possession throughout Payton's tenure.
See Raiders game when the Saints should have run the clock out instead of going score for score. Don't care about the metrics. I just watch the game. If he runs the ball and keeps the d off of the field, the game is over.
... OP brings back memories of Saints vs Eagles 2006 playoff, and that final 8+ minute drive in the 4th quarter.
DEUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!
Darn.. something in my eye...
Amazing drive. We just don't have Deuce.
We have Ingram who has 48 carries, 170 yards for a 3.5 ypa average when we are leading and a horrible 7 first downs on 48 carries with less than 4 minutes to go. Despite forum myth, Ingram does not get stronger in the 4th quarter it is his 2nd worst quarter and he does not get better with more carries since he averages less than 2.2 yards per carry after he reaches 20 carries.
Almost half of Ingram's career yards have come when we are winning by 15+ points where he is a stud and averages over 5 yards per carry. It's the rest of the games where he isn't very good.
But yeah, let's pound the rock.
Without Terron the running game is going to struggle to get to 3 ypc.
Run for 2 yards.
Run for 0 yards.
Incomplete on 3rd and long.
Punt.
The Saints are a pass first team. If the passing game gets going, the running game will have some opportunities. If you are hoping to see the Saints try to pound the ball running, you are watching the wrong football team.
