And guess whose side the United States is on?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090930/ap_on_re_eu/eu_russia_georgia

Yet another distant toilet where the locals are going try to manipulate the United States into fighting on their behalf, or at least suck billions of dollars out of taxpayers pockets.

EDIT for Jim: Note that the AP fails to spell out that "action not justifiable under international law"="war crime".

But when it is somone we don't like who does something like this, it is just called "war crime". It's all a game.

Diablolical.

Note that the AP plays with the language to soften things. War Crime becomes "action not justifiable under international law".

The AP did not soften the language. That was the language in the report. And the conclusion was not that all blame falls on Georgia.
I mean it is certainly a much clearer position than a lot of U.S. politicians made it out to be (see John McCain) - both sides are to blame for the mess.

If it was someone else, I think AP, and certainly Fox News in the "no spin zone", would just go ahead and equate "not justifiable under international law" with "war crime".

Never mind that
Russia's retaliation went "far beyond the reasonable limits of defense," it said, criticizing the devastating Russian assault on a tiny neighbor that in recent years has moved closer into the West with hopes of joining NATO.

Two wrongs and all that jazz.

Its all obama fault anyways, well thats what FOX News and Hannity will say anyways.
