Our local radio station here in Lafayette, LA, ESPN 1420 AM, was nominated this year for a Marconi Award. Marconi Radio awards are presented to stations and personalities exemplifying overall excellence in radio broadcasting by format: AC, CHR, Country, News/Talk, Oldies, Religious, Rock, Spanish, Sports and Urban. Our station has a broadcast power of 1000 (which means nothing to me, but is considered extremely small in radio stations standards).

It was a great honor to be nominated. They were going against stations from New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia...much larger markets.

However, they lost to a station from Buffalo. So with that said, the Saints need to not only win this weekend, but totally pulvarize the Bills to set the record straight.
