MOBILE, Ala. -- Bill Johnson has been in Louisiana most of his life.
After growing up in Monroe, he went to Northwestern State. Then, he coached for the Demons and was on staffs at McNeese State and Louisiana Tech. Eventually, after a few stops elsewhere, he landed with the New Orleans Saints as defensive line coach in 2009.
But, following eight seasons on staff, Johnson is moving on after the Saints didn't renew his contract.
"I loved my time in New Orleans," Johnson said Tuesday at a Senior Bowl practice at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. "We won a lot of games."
