PE the solar system, man you are getting off easy. my daughter wanted to catch space dust, sometimes the discovery channel can ruin your day. let the child do the project but you will need to prod them along. other than the small help I gave my daughter catching space dust the kids did their own projects. my wife bought a book, 101 science projects for kids. they picked the project and did it on their own. one year my son finished his the morning it was due while eating his breakfast. oh and if anyone wants to know how to catch space dust just ask, its easier than you think.

1st Grade!?

Around here, science projects didn't start until 6th grade.

I think 1st Grade is way too early to make a child do a project like that.
