Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Trailer (3 Viewers)

I gave this show a try because this thread is so popular. But then I come in here and realize the thread is popular because of memes. I want my 45 minutes back.

Lol, I'm enjoying the show, memes or no memes. But then, I love me some Marvel shows.

did DC hijack this episode?
not sure I enjoyed this one much- all action, no character is not why I Marvel
Did love the ending reveal and the bread crumb they dropped about it earlier
Didn’t like the overt heel turn by both Faptain and Karli
Really wish they could have the actress who played Mockingbird for Sharon

oh well, can’t live em all

So...any chance that Sharon IS the Power Broker? Or that she's working for him/replaced him? She seems to be doing VERY well for herself in Madripoor.

Tremendously fun episode. Loved everything with Zemo. He was every bit as cerebral as we'd expect, and his place in the world took a big leap forward this episode. I was expecting him to outsmart/manipulate and ditch Sam and Bucky 5 different times. Also, cool that the alias Zemo gave Sam was a member of the Thunderbolts. Which is another property I'd be very interested in seeing.

Interested to see how heavily Wakanda plays in the last 3 episodes. While I'm enjoying it, the narrative needs to start focusing in a bit in the back half. This was a fun episode with lots of action, but we've got to deal with Karli and the Flag Smashers, Zemo, Walker and what feels like his inevitable fall (which could probably take the majority of an episode), probably more Isaiah Bradley, and resolving what happens with the shield and mantle, now with the added thread of Wakanda's interest in Zemo and possible lead in to Black Panther 2, with 3 episodes to go.

I'm not that disappointed with it, but I set the bar low to begin with. So far, I agree that WandaVision was much better.

Are we comparing the first 2 episodes of Wandavision to the first 2 episodes of FAWS? WandaVision definitely finished strong and picked up significantly with episode 4, but those first 2 episodes were not exactly thrilling for anyone not nostalgic for early American sitcoms.

If we're not comparing the first 2 episodes, I think the jury is still out.

I’m really enjoying this, but I’d agree WandaVision was superior and noticeably so. It was a much more interesting narrative and it did a lot of things well. It was also “original” feeling, like they were doing something different.

That said, this is still a darn fun show.

Also, I don't get the disappointed reactions to this show. It feels like the movies to me. Heavy on action and quippy dialogue. That's pretty much the MCU formula. I get that it's a shift coming on the heels of WandaVision, but that show stood out because it was unique. From the trailer, FaWS always felt it would be more straightforward.

The major difference between MCU and DCU is the stuff in between the big set pieces
the shawarma scene, Tony vs Dummy, everything in Capt America before Steve got the serum, T’challa and Shuri, Kilmonger in the throne room
The TV shows allow for more of that and less battle porn
If you like battle porn you can get it in tons if different spaces
I’m not saying get rid of it all together- but it should be in service to character development not in place of
(eg don’t have a character make a dumb cellphone decision just to get to a fight)

When you take the Marvel movies as a whole, those moments you mentioned are miniscule compared to the amount of "battle porn."

Are you disagreeing with my assessment that the in between stuff is what makes Marvel better?

also why would you want tv to do the same as movies?
Better to have separate media for different stories, no?
