I HOPE Steven Jackson is past his prime now but nothing has suggested yet that he is, which means we have to give it up to Atlanta, they got a great player.

Seems like the age is 30 for most backs where they start to see decline, especially if they've carried the ball a lot. Ladainian Tomlinson went from 1400+ and near 5 YPC to 1100 and under 4 between 28 and 29 and then the floor came out from under the poor guy the next year.

It's a 3 year deal so it's a good gamble either way for atlanta imo.

Look at the yardage trend for Steven Jackson - dude has had serious declines in production every year. Definitely an upgrade to Turner, but am glad they took Jackson and not someone on the upside of their career. This also means they won't draft Eddie Lacey.
